Company History

2 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA

Althouse, Martin & Associates was founded in 1967 by Harold H Althouse with an office in the historic Kimmel House located in Ephrata.  In 1977 John H Martin joined as a partner and six years later, Althouse, Martin & Associates Inc. moved to Lancaster.  Under the leadership of John Martin, the firm became known for its progressive yet classic design, well thought out and researched for the latest in function and technology, and on the cutting edge of the aesthetics in the region.

In July 2008 Eldon R Stoltzfus purchased the firm and in 2014 the firm moved to its current location in Strasburg.  During the summer of 2013, Eric (Rick) Walker merged his practice with Althouse, Martin & Associates.

For almost fifty years, thousands of projects and a world of changes have shaped the firm’s story.  Despite these many changes, the firm has remained true to its founding principles by maintaining excellent communication with clients, technical consultants, and the construction industry. Through it all, the hallmark of Althouse, Martin & Associates has been to design modern, historical, post-modern or neoclassic buildings to meet the preferred aesthetics of each client without neglecting contextual design of the building's natural and man-made environment.

Along the way Althouse, Martin & Associates has gained extensive experience providing needs assessments for existing facilities, masterplanning exercises and construction documentation while working with the Owner and Contractor as a unified team to create a substantial list of successful projects.
